BARRIER-SUPPORTIVE CLEANSING OIL

Designed to cleanse without disrupting the acid mantle

Demigod is the first step in the Editrix Functional Beauty Ritual: a barrier-supportive cleansing oil designed to remove makeup, sunscreen, pollution, and excess sebum without stripping the skin.

Inspired by the Ayurvedic practice of oil cleansing, Demigod uses antioxidant-rich oils infused with Ayurvedic botanicals to gently dissolve buildup while respecting the acid mantle — the skin’s delicate protective surface and home to the skin microbiome.

When the acid mantle is disrupted, skin can feel tight, dry, reactive, or imbalanced. Demigod is formulated to cleanse with a lighter touch, helping preserve the conditions the microbiome needs to thrive so skin feels clean, nourished, and resilient.  

Massage into dry skin until makeup, sunscreen, dirt, and pollution dissolve. Place a warm, damp washcloth over the face for 15 seconds to let the steam further loosen buildup, then wipe clean. Follow with Deuxième for a complete double cleanse. 

Multi-use: Demigod can also be used on the face or body as a luxurious, skin-supportive moisturizer.

Fact...

The skin’s natural ecosystem is acidic, typically sitting between pH 4.0 and 5.5. This acidic surface, known as the acid mantle, helps support the skin microbiome and creates an environment where beneficial bacteria can thrive. Many traditional cleansers are more alkaline, which can disrupt the acid mantle and leave skin feeling tight, dry, or reactive. When the skin’s protective surface is compromised, the microbiome and barrier can become more vulnerable to environmental stressors, pollution, and imbalance.
